Explore Mumbai using social media: Mumbai is an interesting city. Let us assume that you have never visited it. Till few years back you would have a rough idea about the city, maybe from magazines, visiting websites, seeing TV, Bollywood, friends and families living there etc.
Come back to 2014 where there is an explosion in Social media (facebook, tumblr, twitter, flickr, google+, vimeo, pininterest and what not). There would be a huge amount of information about Mumbai in these media. The aim of this mini project is to describe the city Mumbai from various perspectives using social media.
You will buid an application (web based/standalone/mobile-choice is yours) that will explore different social media, find posts, images, videos etc about Mumbai and then deliver an output that describes Mumbai:

(i) Latest news/stories about Mumbai
(ii) Latest in entertainment, art and music in Mumbai
(iii) The exotic foodplaces
(iv) Political happenings, political views
(v) Sports activities
(vi) Fashion
(vii) Stories that comes out from day to day life
(viii) Student Life

For this project you need to use your laptop’s built in camera or use a webcam. The aim is to build an application that understand five simple gestures and then depict the gesture using simple drawing. The gestures are:

(i) Hand moving from right to left
(ii) Hand moving from left to right
(iii) Hand going up
(iv) Hand coming down
(v) Hand moving toward the camera

Once your application recognizes the gesture it needs to present a simple drawing to depict it. For example if it detects the hand moving from right to left it can simply draw the <--- symbol or draw an animated line moving from right to left. You can decide the symbolic representation yourself.
