The department of computer science and engineering is excited to announce our students
participation in PENTATHON, a cyber security hackathon organized under flagship of
National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Center (NCIIPC), the All India Council
of Technical Education (AICTE), and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC)
PENTATHON will consist of two stages:
Screening Round (1st Stage): Scheduled for mid-March 2024, this online round will take the form of a jeopardy-style Capture the Flag (CTF) competition. Student teams will face challenges covering a wide range of cybersecurity domains including Web attacks, Network exploitation, privilege escalation, cloud-focused exploitation, API Vulnerabilities, Mobile App exploitation, OT SCADA, and Reverse Engineering.
Grand Finale (2nd Stage): Taking place in the first week of April 2024, this offline event will be an ethical hacking contest focused on Critical Information Infrastructure Protection.
Who Can Participate? PENTATHON is open to students from Higher Education Institutes (HEIs). Participants can join individually or form teams consisting of 2 to 6 members. Additionally, each individual or team may have 1 to 2 optional mentors.
Winning Teams Winners of PENTATHON will not only receive prize money but also have the opportunity to be enrolled as Pentesters for CII by NCIIPC. These winning teams will be formally invited to participate in real Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) exercises, with provision for remuneration of up to Rs. 10 Lakh for each exercise.
