Subject: Implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) – 3rd and 5th Semesters

All students of the 3rd and 5th semesters are hereby informed that Project-Based Learning (PBL) will be implemented for the following subjects during the current semester.

📘 PBL Subjects

3rd Semester

  • Data Structures in C
  • Programming in C++

5th Semester

  • Operating Systems
  • Database Management Systems

📌 PBL Phases

The Project-Based Learning (PBL) shall be conducted in three phases throughout the semester:

Phase I – Project Planning & Proposal

  • Selection of project topic and problem statement.
  • Literature survey and requirement analysis.
  • Project proposal approval.

Phase II – Design & Development

  • System design and implementation of the proposed solution.
  • Regular progress reviews with the assigned mentor.
  • Mid-semester evaluation based on project progress, documentation, and implementation.

Phase III – Testing, Documentation & Final Demonstration

  • Testing, debugging, and validation of the project.
  • Preparation of the final project report and presentation.
  • Final demonstration and viva-voce before the evaluation.

 

📌 Important Instructions

  • Students are advised to start preparing for PBL immediately.
  • Team formation is mandatory and must be completed as per departmental guidelines.
  • Teams must be formed strictly with members from different sections.
  • Students must meet their assigned mentors regularly and ensure satisfactory progress throughout all phases of the project.
  • All submissions, source code, reports, presentations, and other project deliverables must strictly adhere to the plagiarism guidelines available on the Departmental Website. Any violation of plagiarism norms shall attract disciplinary action as per university regulations.
  • Students are expected to maintain proper documentation and complete all milestones within the stipulated timelines.
  • Further details regarding team registration, mentor allocation, evaluation schedule, and submission deadlines will be communicated separately.
