Hands-on experience of Machine Learning Regression Concepts in Python (Session will be delivered by Industry Expert from Oracle)
To mark the International Girls in ICT Day 2022, Oracle is pleased to invite girls for a hands-on training session on ML Regression Concepts in Python.
International Girls in ICT Day – It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of April every year, by International Telecommunications Union. It is celebrated in over 150 countries around the world. The primary objective is to celebrate girls and young women and encourage them to pursue studies and careers in the technology sector through training in coding, the development of mobile applications, and IT.
This year the celebration falls on 28 April.
About the Boot camp
Objectives:
- Understanding the ML Regression techniques and Algorithm workflow as well as Python code required in execution.
- Implementing these on Jupyter Notebook with hands-on makes them practically understandable as well.
- Analyzing Real-World Problems and how they can be solved
Area Covered:
Session 1 (16th April) 11 AM to 2 PM: Overview of Machine learning, AI Overview, Data pre-processing steps, Training and test data, Python libraries, Linear Regression algorithms, Visualizing plots with various examples
Session 2 (17th April) 11 AM to 2 PM: Summary of Regression done in Part I, Multiple Linear Regression, Support Vector Regression, Decision Tree Regression, Random Forest Regression, Evaluating Model Performance. Project Assignment will be given on 10th April and the further ML areas will be covered as per Assignment.
Show case Session 28th April 9 AM to 10.30 AM
Software used: Jupyter notebook
The programming language used: Python
Pre-training software needed:
- Anaconda (can install from here Anaconda | Individual Edition)
- Install Jupyter Notebook from Anaconda installed
- Also install respective libraries such as panda, NumPy, matplotlib, etc. (pip install panda)
(All participants should download the software specified and be ready.)
Nature of Event – Virtual on Zoom
Class Size – 30-40. Our plan is to group them (10) for team presentations on 28 April.
Audience– Girls pursuing engineering courses in Computer Science/MCA with an interest in programming using Python and ML.
Commitment from participants – Attending all three sessions and being ready for showcase on 28 April to mark the Girls in ICT Day Event.
Note: Only 50 students are required for the program, so selection will be based on a first-come, first-serve basis.
